Where I begin…

Every path I’ve walked has led me here—not to a destination, but to a devotion.

Conscious conception.

Womb wisdom.

Nervous system awareness.

I support women preparing for life’s transitions—from womb to world, from cycle to cycle.

Rooted in Remembering…

A return to what was always there.

I’ve come to understand that awareness isn’t something we gain
it’s something we return to.
A remembering.
A quiet homecoming to what was always there, just beneath the noise.

When we begin from that place—from awareness—we root ourselves in sovereignty.
In choice. In presence. In a deep and embodied yes to who we are becoming.

I listened to the call

Into the quiet knowing…

For the past seven years, I’ve supported women and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a doula and educator under the name Bodhi Birth and Wellness. I’ve walked beside over 180 women through some of life’s most powerful thresholds, and educated many more families through these sacred transitions. Over time, those experiences began to speak to me in a new way.

They whispered:
Go earlier. Go deeper. Go where life begins—before it begins.

That whisper carried me into the work I do now—guiding women not only through the journey toward conception, but through the more subtle thresholds:
The ones between cycles, between versions of self, between stories.

My work centers around preconception support, yes—but even more than that, it’s about womb wisdom, nervous system awareness, and a reclamation of the sacred. It’s for the woman who’s preparing to become a mother, and also for the woman preparing to become more fully herself.

I’ve witnessed what happens when a woman listens inward.
When she gives herself permission to slow down, to soften, to trust the quiet knowing inside her bones.

This work isn’t about fixing. It’s not a checklist.
It’s a remembrance. A return.
To the body as sacred ground.
To breath as medicine.
To life as an unfolding—not a deadline.
It’s about beginning with clarity, connection, and a deep sense of self.

I’m also walking my own forever path—toward holistic midwifery.
Toward greater balance and deeper tending as a woman in this world.
Toward a future where our care is cyclical, soulful, and sovereign. If any of that resonates, you are so welcome here.
Let’s begin again, together.

Philosophy

Awareness is Sovereignty

Sovereignty begins the moment you awaken to yourself.

Awareness is not an idea but a living practice—felt in the breath, in the body, in the quiet space where reaction softens into choice. Here, you return to what has always been yours: the power to move from alignment, not urgency; from presence, not pressure.

Life Moves in Spirals

The body does not move in straight lines—it moves in spirals, in seasons, in tides.

Our first stories are written in the womb, where the rhythms of becoming begin. Cyclical wisdom reminds us that every rise is braided with a rest, every unfolding with a return. To live by the spiral is to trust the body, honor our beginnings, and create from the pulse of life itself.

Root in Becoming and Rise

Every threshold begins the same way: with breath, with awareness, with a return to the body as home.

Birth, becoming, unraveling, renewal—all are threads of the same tapestry. When you move from presence, you are not merely preparing for what’s next—you are remembering who you are. Sovereignty is not outside you; it rises from within.

Foundations of Becoming

A Framework Where Inner Knowing Meets Scientific Ground
Like water carving stone, our earliest experiences create pathways through body, psyche, and soul. These paths shape how we relate, respond, and rise. The work I offer is rooted in presence, connection, and the remembering of wholeness. From this place emerge four foundational streams—each one a living inquiry into how we come to be, and how we come back home.

The Science of Energetics

Beneath thought and form lies a field of interaction—where energy shapes biology, emotion, and connection. This pillar explores how the unseen becomes felt, and how emerging science affirms what the body already knows: presence has power, and intention carries weight.

Birth (prenatal and perinatal) Psychology

Our first home is the womb, and our first stories begin before words. This pillar traces the echoes of those beginnings—how our earliest experiences shape nervous system patterns, relational dynamics, and our lifelong sense of safety and self.

Womb
Literacy

The body speaks in rhythms, symptoms, and seasonal truths. This pillar is a return to inner knowing—tracking cycles, honoring signals, and restoring sovereignty through embodied awareness and cyclical wisdom.

Breathwork and Embodiment

Breath is the bridge between worlds—physiology and spirit, instinct and presence. This pillar invites us back to the body as home, where breath and sensation guide the way toward integration, regulation, and awakening.

Education & Training

A path woven in devotion, wisdom, and lived experience.

My journey is shaped by study and spirit—by formal trainings and the quiet initiations of holding space for life at its edges. I value learning that honors both science and soul, and I bring this integrative foundation to every woman I serve.

I’m honored to have had the opportunity to learn through:

  • DONA Trained Birth & Postpartum Doula
  • Stillbirthday Trained Birth & Bereavement Doula (supporting through loss, diagnosis & decision)
  • Certified Body Ready Method® Pro (functional movement & nervous system attunement)
  • Certified APPPAH Prenatal & Perinatal Educator (PPNE)
  • Executive Director of APPPAH, the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health
  • Reiki Master Teacher (always a student, always unfolding)
  • Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher Training (Positive Psychology focus)
  • Acupressure for Birth Certification Training
  • Indie Birth Midwifery School
  • Preconception and Womb Work through Luminous Birth

And I continue deepening through current studies in:

  • Traditional Midwifery Apprenticeship
  • Breathwork Facilitation through Awakened Breath

This work is my calling and my classroom.
It is lived, learned, and layered—through body, breath, and becoming.

A Life of Listening

I’ve walked beside more than 180 families as they crossed the threshold into parenthood—each birth a sacred ceremony, each postpartum a quiet unfolding. These experiences have been my teachers: whispering, softening, awakening something deep within me. Over time, they invited me to go earlier, to go deeper… to go to where life begins before it begins.

My work is now rooted in the spaces between. Between stories. Between cycles. Between versions of self.
Through breath, body literacy, and the lens of birth (prenatal and perinatal) psychology, I support women in coming home to their own knowing—not as a performance, but as a practice of sovereignty.

I’ve always been shaped by the land. Raised by farmers, I carry the rhythm of soil and season in my bones. I know what it means to tend something with love, to meet the unknown with presence, to trust what is ripening beneath the surface. It’s in my lineage to grow, to witness, to hold the long arc of transformation.

That same reverence led me to the work I now hold.
To birthwork. To breathwork. To somatic remembering.
To midwifery—not as a job, but as a lifelong devotion to sacred care and connection.

I’m currently walking the path toward holistic midwifery, weaving everything I’ve gathered along the way: wisdom from elders and mentors, midwifery education, somatic awareness, energy medicine, breathwork, and the brilliant minds I’ve had the privilege to learn from through my role as Executive Director of APPPAH (The Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health).

I’ve been mentored and shaped by the words and work of Dr. David Hayes, Dr. Thomas Verny, Dr. Raylene Phillips, Carol McLellan, Barbara Harper, Maryn Green, Susan Highsmith—and so many others who have generously poured into me with wisdom both practical and sacred.

Through it all, one truth remains:
Awareness is sovereignty.

And sovereignty isn’t something we arrive at.
It’s something we return to.
Breath by breath. Choice by choice.
It lives in the space where urgency softens into presence.
Where the push quiets, and the pulse of becoming returns.
Where embodiment leads the way.

So whether you’re calling in life, crossing into motherhood, or simply becoming more fully yourself,
you are welcome here.

This is not a program.
Not a checklist.
Not something to fix.

This is a spiral.
A remembering.
A sacred return to your own power.

Let’s begin again, together.

Our Work at APPPAH

As Executive Director of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH), an educational non-profit established in 1983, I help lead a global movement rooted in the belief that our earliest experiences—conception, life in the womb, and birth—profoundly shape who we become.

At APPPAH, we bridge science and wisdom to educate, advocate, and inspire. Through groundbreaking programs, research, and community, we’re cultivating a world where babies are welcomed consciously, parents are supported with compassion, and professionals are empowered to nurture wholeness from the very beginning.

Why Awareness Matters

A manifesto for those who are moving through the spiral…

We live in a world that worships speed, productivity, and outcomes. But creation–true, sacred creation– begins in stillness. In breath. In the quiet space where awareness lives.

Awareness is the gateway to everything.
To trust.
To choice.
To the kind of life that is rooted, not rushed.

When we choose to begin with awareness—whether we’re calling in a child, transitioning into a new season of womanhood, or simply listening inward—we reclaim our sovereignty.
We say: I will not abandon myself to arrive somewhere faster.
We remember that the body knows how to unfold when given the time to listen.

Breath becomes our guide.
Body becomes our compass.
And presence becomes the practice.

Awareness matters because it slows us down enough to notice what we’re actually carrying.
It helps us meet our cycles with reverence, not resistance.
It reveals what’s ready to be released—and what’s finally ready to be received.

Whether you are preparing for conception, moving through loss, softening into motherhood, or simply inhabiting your body more fully for the first time in years—
awareness offers a way through that doesn’t require force.
Only willingness.

This is the path of conscious creation.
Of deep embodiment.
Of beginning again, with your eyes open and your heart steady.

Because when we begin from presence—not pressure—we don’t just create life.
We create the conditions for that life to feel safe, sacred, and whole.

And that changes everything.
